The audiovisual fulldome performance “Noosphere” examines the intricate relationship between the noosphere - the global sphere of human thought - and its profound influence on climate change.
Initially a utopian concept when conceived, the noosphere’s realization through cyberspace has had both positive and negative repercussions. As the experience unfolds, audiences explore how the digital realm has not only harnessed the potential for positive change but also brought to light its drawbacks, particularly concerning the massive energy consumption required to sustain the ever-increasing demand for bandwidth and speed.
A swarm of points continually rearranges itself around the audience, generating abstract shapes reminiscent of natural phenomena like tornados and rain, which are opposed by architectural forms. Angular and rigid, these shapes represent humanity’s influence on the primal forces of nature.
The work delves into the delicate balance between human consciousness and the environmental challenges we face.
